Description
WEATHERPRO Exterior Primer is a water-based acrylic primer specially formulated to resist alkali and moisture present in new plaster surfaces. It forms a tough and flexible film which prevents passage of moisture from the substrate through the paint film — an important line of defense in Karachi, where high coastal humidity and salt-bearing sea air put constant moisture pressure on exterior walls.
Uses
WEATHERPRO Exterior Primer has been designed for use on exterior cement render, concrete, lime plaster, asbestos cement sheets and all other surfaces which require sealing against moisture or alkaline substrate. It is specially designed for exterior surfaces, making it well suited to Karachi and Sindh's humid, monsoon-exposed climate where unsealed masonry is more prone to moisture damage and alkaline salt deposits.
Surface Preparation
Before application of WEATHERPRO Exterior Primer, it is essential that the surface to be painted should be dry and free from grease and dust — particularly important in coastal Karachi, where salt residue and humidity can linger on exterior surfaces.
Application Procedure
- Applied by thinning (1:1) with water
- Berger Exterior Putty can be applied after the application of WEATHERPRO Exterior Primer
- Remove all defective or poorly adhering material by rubbing with a suitable abrasive paper or stiff brush
